Renascent Church ascribes to the mindset: In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity. Because of this mindset, we believe that Christians can disagree on many things within the life of the church and still join together for the purpose of fellowship and mission. The following are the essential doctrines that people must agree upon in order to join in fellowship as members of Renascent Church.

The Trinity 

We believe that God is one in His nature and three in His Persons. Specifically, we confess that there is only one God, but in the unity of the Godhead there are three eternal and coequal Persons, the same in substance yet distinct in function. They execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. [Genesis 1:1, 26; John 1:1- 3; Matthew 28:19; John 4:24; Romans 1:19, 20; Ephesians 4:5-6]

God the Father

We believe in God the Father who is infinite and personal, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. God the Son

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary, atoning death. We believe He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the one Mediator, fully God, fully man, in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever-present Lord. God the Holy Spirit

We believe in the third Person of the Trinity, the fully divine and eternal Holy Spirit of God, who was sent to convict the world of sin and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. He enlightens and empowers individual believers and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. [John 14:16-17, 26; 15:26-27; 16:9-14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22-26]

Scripture

We believe that the Bible is the breathed-out, written Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has primary authority in all matters of faith and conduct. Salvation

We believe that man, created by God in His own image, rebelled against Him and thereby incurred physical, spiritual, and eternal death. As a consequence, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners by choice and are therefore under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of and forsake sin to trust Jesus Christ as Savior through His substitutionary death on the cross have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit to become new creatures, are delivered from condemnation, and receive eternal life. The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work, and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the lost world. The Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of the believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. [Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26]

Church Cooperation

We believe that local churches can best promote the cause of Jesus Christ by cooperating with one another through both formal and informal organization. Such organization exists and functions by the will of the individual churches. Cooperation in a formal relationship among churches is voluntary and may be terminated at any time.
